The biomass heating plant is located in the vicinity of the Erfurt Lake District and supplies heat for the engine works MDC Power GmbH of Daimler since 2002, and completely CO2 neutral using wood chips from the region of Thuringia. HolSo Therm Kölleda runs operations of the biomass heating plant under its own management.
Needless to say, during conception the customers’ interests of MDC Power GmbH – a company of Daimler AG – were of key focus. Daimler AG attaches great importance to environmentally friendly production at all of its locations since several years.
The new construction of the engine works offered the opportunity to combine intentions as well as goals in the field of environmental protection with the economic necessity of cost-effective heat supply.
