  • Order value of EUR 1.8 million
  • Annual sales revenue in the amount of EUR 0.4 million
  • Contract period over 15 years

Kulmbach, 10 August 2010: AGO AG Energie + Anlagen (cusip number: A0LR41, ISIN: DE000A0LR415) was awarded an order for the construction and operation of a biomass heating station in Berga. The order value for the construction of the heating system is approx. EUR 1.8 million. The construction is planned to start in spring 2011. The volume of heat to be supplied amounts to an annual EUR 0.4 million. Within the 15 year contract period, sales revenues of approximately EUR 6.0 million will be generated from heat supply.

The biomass heating station in eastern Thuringia will be equipped with a 2 MW biomass boiler and a 3 MW peak load boiler. For firing the plant, AGO will mainly use wood chips from the nearby region. The new heating system will supply several buildings owned by Wohnbaugesellschaft Berga mbH as well as the local primary and secondary school. It is also possible to increase the heat supply for further public and private buildings by means of a district heat network of the city of Berga.

„The 15 year contracting period with the biomass heating station in Berga allows for higher security and scalability when it comes to planning future business years. AGO on the one hand benefits from the ecologically useful decisions made by clients who require heat and on the other hand is saving costs on a long-term basis through the use of biomass for the generation of heat“, says Hans Ulrich Gruber, speaker of the Board of AGO AG Energie + Anlagen.
