AGO AG Energie + Anlagen: Publication of 2007 nine-month report

+++ Revenue of €32 million in the first nine months

+++ EBIT of €0.52 million

+++ Optimistic outlook

Kulmbach, 19 November 2007: AGO AG Energie + Anlagen (German Securities Code Number (WKN): A0LR41; ISIN: DE000A0LR415) will today announce its figures for the first nine months of the 2007 financial year. For the first time, the 2007 nine-month report has been drawn up in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Revenue in the period under review reached €32.0 million. Following deduction of the cost of sales, gross profit of €0.83 million was posted. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) on the reporting date of 30 September 2007 came to €0.52 million, with total net profit for the period amounting to €0.09 million.

Liquid assets declined by €5.1 million to €5.3 million in the period ending 30 September 2007 due to project activities such as the new biomass cogeneration plants in Gierstädt and Ohrdruf. At the same time, other assets (advance payments to suppliers) went up by €5.3 million to €9.7 million. Shareholders’ equity rose by 4% to €11.9 million in the third quarter of 2007. At just under 6%, total assets increased somewhat more sharply. The equity ratio of 27% remained more or less at the same level as for the first half of 2007.

“The prices of fossil fuels and the greater awareness of industrial enterprises regarding the problems of global warming have been an emotional topic during the third quarter. We are therefore noticing a significantly greater demand for products from the area of heat and power cogeneration. This demand trend is further supported by the amendment to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) and the planned introduction of the EEWärmeG (Renewable Heat Energy Sources Act). Against this background we are engaged in concrete negotiations for further projects involving the construction and operation of biomass cogeneration plants in Germany. The compensation paid for feeding in biomass energy from foreign European countries under our observation could also offer attractive investment opportunities in the future,” says Hans Ulrich Gruber, CFO of AGO AG Energie + Anlagen.
