Kulmbach, 23 December 2009: AGO AG Energie + Anlagen honoured 14 of its longest-serving employees at the annual employees meeting and Christmas party. Klaus Bescherer, Jutta Fischer, André Göttlicher, Udo Herrmannsdörfer, Martin Hofknecht, Michael Schneider, Petra Schwanke and Anna Wolf were recognised for 10 years of service. AGO AG also thanked Erika Endres, Henry Hartan, Lothar Jahn und Matthias Popp for 15 years at the Company. Michaela Gabler-Zapf, 25 years service, and Helmut Peetz, 30 years, both received special honours for their loyal commitment to AGO.
Helmut Peetz, Chief Operating Officer of AGO AG, started his career 30 years ago as a planning engineer and Assistant to the Management. Between 1979 and 1983 he was Assistant Head of Department in the “heat engineering” business division and was responsible for establishing a sales department and a project department for heat and refrigeration plants. During the years 1983 to 1999, he was initially Head of Department with power of attorney and afterwards became an Authorised Officer until he was appointed Managing Director in 2003.
In 1983, Michaela Gabler-Zapf was the first woman to ever take up an apprenticeship as technical draftswoman at the specialist firm for heat engineering and cryogenics. Six years later, she studied at Karlsruhe University to become a certified heating, ventilation and air-conditioning engineer. Afterwards, she started working in the project and engineering departments of AGO AG. As a project manager in the project and sales department for energy supply plants, she coordinates and supports a wide range of large-scale projects during their planning and proposal stages.
“Every year, our honours and awards reflect the low employee turnover in our Company. And this is exactly what makes AGO AG so special. St. Gallen University underlined this as well by awarding us the title ‘Top Job 2009’. This award is given to the top 100 employers in Germany, and we are proud to be amongst them. Knowing that our employees are our most valuable asset, AGO AG went against the market trend in 2009 and increased its headcount and sales. We will continue to expand in 2010,” emphasises Hans Ulrich Gruber, Speaker of the Management Board of AGO AG Energie + Anlagen.
