AGO AG Energie + Anlagen renders consulting services for the regional reduction of greenhouse gas emissions

+++ AGO AG climate protection partner of Kulmbach’s public utility company
+++ Target: regional decrease of greenhouse gas emissions
+++ Reduction of up to 2,690 t CO2 during project period

Kulmbach, 4 June 2008: AGO AG Energie + Anlagen (cusip number: A0LR41; ISIN: DE000A0LR415) has successfully completed a consulting service in the field of climate protection. Thus, AGO AG Energie + Anlagen as a partner of Kulmbach’s public utility company for climate protection has defined a procedure which reduced CO2 emissions obtained through plant modernization can be identified with. The consulting service included the preparation of a project design document (PDD) aiming at the regional reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The annual CO2 reduction is indicated with up to 672 t CO2. Thus, over the project period of four years up to 2,690 t CO2 can be saved through more efficient heating systems.

The climate protection project – PDD prepared by AGO AG Energie + Anlagen indicates the explicit procedure according to the rules of the Kyoto Protocol. Apart from the compliance with all legal requirements, also the corresponding “base line” and the “reference scenario” are defined. That includes the comparison of the absolute greenhouse gas emission prior to and after the plant modernization as well as the indirect emission reduction of the new project.

By converting outdated heating systems into modern boiler systems for low temperature and condensing boiler technology the plant users shall be credited a compensation for each avoided ton of CO2. Therefore, the allowance is no longer allotted to one connection, but to the amount of CO2 saved per system which does support clients with high annual emission savings.
