AGO AG receives carbon foot print ISO certification – as one of the first five companies in Germany

  • Certified identification of the company’s annual CO2 emissions
  • AGO AG one of the precursors in Germany
  • Annual reduction of CO2 emissions aimed for

Kulmbach, 15 June 2010: AGO AG Energie + Anlagen (cusip number: A0LR41, ISIN: DE000A0LR415) receives ISO 14064-1 certification. With this certification, the correct identification of the company’s annual CO2 emissions is recorded. According to the certifier, AGO AG is one of few German companies to have dedicated themselves to reducing their annual CO2 emissions.

„The exact corporate consideration of the harmful CO2 will in the future play an even more important role for companies and consumers. We act on the assumption that consumers will focus much more on how much CO2 is emitted for products and services and will choose accordingly. The carbon footprint of a company will have a considerable influence on the commercialization of a product and will give the precursors a clear – even if limited – competitive advantage. Companies become more and more aware of the fact that climate protection and social responsibility for generations to come are tasks to be taken care of by them“, says Hans Ulrich Gruber, speaker of the Board of AGO AG. „AGO offers other companies to identify their emission amount plus subsequent certification by an external inspector”, says Gruber.

AGO AG is planning to reduce their annual CO2 emissions, e.g. by identifying and reducing so called emission hotspots. As a result, AGO AG is starting to buy company cars according to emission limits.
