Official inauguration of the Biomass Cogeneration Plant Alperstedt which was awarded the Innovation Price.

On 11 May 2007, the Biomass Cogeneration Plant Alperstedt was officially inaugurated. The biomass plant was planned and constructed within a period of only fourteen months and has been operated since December 2006. It supplies one of Germany’s largest greenhouses with heat and generates electricity for the public grid by means of an ORC module.

During the festivity, people involved in the project, invited guests from politics and partners of the 20 ha greenhouse were welcomed by Peter Winkler, Manager of GBT – Gartenbaubeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. In his speech he emphasised the achievements of the persons and authorities involved. He pointed out that with AGO AG Energie + Anlagen he found the right partner for his project. As a symbol of the long-term future collaboration, Peter Winkler handed over a tree. Furthermore, it was announced that AGO AG Energie + Anlagen received an award for the “Innovation Price 2007 Industry” for the Biomass Cogeneration Plant Alperstedt. The award assigned by the „Medium-sized business initiative“ accordingly appreciates the achievement of everyone involved. AGO AG is the majority shareholder of Biomasseheizkraftwerk Alperstedt GmbH and HolSoTherm GmbH, which operates the plant.
