The Climate Protection Program ECo-Plus*: climate protection – from cost factor to essential field of activity for companies
Joint Implementation (JI) program by AGO AG
Climate protection by AGO addresses:
- All plant operators of energy centers with a combustion heat performance from 400 kW to 19.9 MW
- Normally medium-sized industrial companies
What are the objectives achieved for the plant operator:
- Fuel switching from fossil to biogenous energy sources
- Increase of energy efficiency
- Reduction of CO2 emissions of plants which are not subject to EU emissions trading
- Improvement of efficiency by generating certificates that can be sold
How the program works:
AGO AG Energie + Anlagen uses existing and future potentials in terms of climate protection measures and emissions trading for its customers. Due to the many years in consulting and in plant operations, AGO has the necessary expertise in the field of European emissions trading in order to implement international climate protection projects efficiently, legally correct and rapidly.
Basically, all energy centers with a performance of 400 kW to 19.9 MW are included in the program.
When switching to biogenous fuels, each ton of reduced CO2 is identified and a corresponding certificate is then generated – the so-called emission reduction units (ERU). They are introduced into the European Emissions Trading System and placed on the market at fair market conditions. Each ton of reduced CO2 obtains thus a fair price.
The climate protection program proceeds in a programmatic manner. Within the JI program, it is possible to continually gather new projects and/or participants within the project period (2008 to 2012).
Remark: Anyone can participate in this program – the system does not neet to be installed by AGO AG.
