Energieversorgungscenter II (EVC), Dresden

The period between award of contract and commissioning of the new Energy Center II in Dresden was barely twelve months. A record-breaking time if you consider that all tender procedures and constructions designs for the 22 million EUR project as well as enormous installation works have been carried out during this period.

Hot water heating facility with combined heat and power plants and heat exchangers operated by natural gas, heated with 10 bar saturated steam from gas engines and steam boilers.

  • Heat network:32 °C and 54 °C
  • 9 x gas engines with 2,560 kW each ∑ = 23,0 MW / hot water
  • 3 x heat exchangers with 5,000 kW each ∑ = 15,0 MW / hot water
  • Refrigeration for a chip factory
  • Chilled water temperature 5 °C and 11 °C
  • 5 pcs. turbo chillers with 5.900 kW each ∑ = 29,5 MW
  • 3 pcs. double effect absorption chillers 5.800 kW each ∑ = 17,4 MW
  • 2 pcs. single effect absorption chillers 3.200 kW each ∑ = 6,4 MW
  • Heat recovery from the cooling water with 24,0 MW
  • 14 pcs. cooling towers with 6,5 MW each ∑ = 91,0 MW
  • Contract value: 22,0 million EUR
